Public data
The register
The most recent reports, newest first. This rolls as new ones come in, always showing the latest 20.
Self-reported, not independently verified.
Our mission
About
The Public AI Register is dedicated to documenting how artificial intelligence affects the public. As AI systems become embedded in daily life, in the platforms we use, the decisions made about us, and the information we encounter, there is no independent, public record of the harms people actually experience. We built this register to close that gap.
We collect self-reported accounts directly from the public: where an incident occurred, what kind of harm was involved, and a plain description of what happened. Each report stands as an individual account rather than a verified finding. The value of the register lies in the pattern that emerges across many voices, not in any single entry.
We publish this data openly. Aggregated and individual reports are available for anyone to review: researchers, journalists, policymakers, and the public, so that the record of AI's effects is shaped by the people experiencing it, not gatekept by the institutions building the technology.
We are independent, and our only interest is an accurate, transparent, and public account of how AI affects people's lives.
Hide a report or flag personal information
If a report names you, contains someone's personal details, or is one you posted and want taken down, ask us to hide it. You don't need an account.
- Find the report. On the register, every report has a number (like #42) and a Request removal button.
- Choose why. Pick a reason, such as personal information, it's about you, or it's your own report, and add details if you like.
- We review it. If we agree, the report is hidden from the register. Leave an email if you'd like to hear back.

Privacy
The Public AI Register is a public record of people's experiences with AI. This page explains what we collect, why, and for how long. Questions: info@everydayaisafety.org.
When you post a report
We keep the text you write, the optional type of issue, platform and country you choose, and the time. All of this is published on the register for anyone to read. We don't ask for your name, email or an account. Please don't include names, phone numbers, addresses or photos of anyone, including yourself.
To protect the register from spam and manipulation
- A cookie with a random ID, so we can limit how many reports one browser sends. It contains nothing about you and lasts one year.
- Scrambled, one-way codes made from your IP address, network and browser type. We use them only to spot repeated or coordinated posting. We never store your IP address itself, and the codes are deleted after 30 days.
When you ask us to remove a report
We keep the report number, the reason you chose, any details you write, and your email if you leave one. Only our admins see this. We use your email only to reply about your request. We delete it 30 days after you sent the request, or when we close the request if that takes longer. Copies in our backups are gone within a further 14 days.
Who sees what
- Published reports: everyone.
- Removal requests, review notes and the full data download: our admins only.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.
- Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
You can ask us to hide any report, for example if it is about you, contains personal information, or is one you wrote, using the removal request form. For anything else, email info@everydayaisafety.org.

Terms of use
Reports are personal accounts
Every report is written by a member of the public. We don't check whether it is true, and publishing it doesn't mean we agree with it. Read reports as individual experiences, not verified facts.
What you can't post
- Personal information about anyone: names, phone numbers, addresses, photos, account names.
- Threats, harassment or hate.
- Claims you know are false.
- Spam, advertising, or the same report many times.
- Anything illegal.
What we can do
We can hold a report for review, hide it, or refuse it, without notice, if we think it breaks these terms or could harm someone. We can also limit posting to protect the register.
Using your report
By posting, you allow us to publish your report and share it, including in research or summaries about the effects of AI. Reports are anonymous: we don't ask who you are, and we can't tell who wrote a report.
No guarantees
We run the register as it is and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We aren't responsible for what other people post, but we'll act on removal requests.
